Get your Game Face On!. Superbowl 2011

Steelers of Packers? Nothing shows who you are rooting for better than a game face. This can simply be two colors on each side of your face – a logo on your arm or words with your favorite team’s players and numbers down your arm. This is especially popular with boys. They want to match or be different to prove individuilty. Try this for a quick game face – paint a line of eye liner down the middle of the face with eye powders on either side. Then paint a thick black line under each eye to look like a football player. This is an easy homemade game face. For something more complicated call Fabulous Faces to work at your Superbowl party painting up the crowd. My favorite part – the commercials and painting the kids.

Halloween Face Painting – Ready Made Costume!!!

With a full face painted design or even an elaborate mask – kids and adults have a ready made costume. A kitty kat just has to add a black leotard and a tail. Teens can paint a goth face with just white and black paint and dress in black. A witch can paint a complete face green and accent with black lips a mole and black heavy eye lids and add just a hat. Spend some time looking at Google Images and figuring out what you can accomplish. Get some paints and go for it. Use only skin safe glitter or you can glue gems with eye lash adhesive. Get creative and have fun. This is your chance. Also – don’t forget to look beautiful. Faces can be GLAMOROUS!!!! Put glitter and gems on your lids, paint a black beautymark on your cheek, use beautiful colors – even spray paint your hair with colored and glittered hair spray. Everything washes off. Fabulous Faces will accomidate requests as we are available for custom designs. Call for availability or just for a face painting lesson.

Halloween and Harvest Festivals – Time to Get Creative!

Hi everyone. Well this is the time of year where even luke warm face painting novices take out their eye liner, eye shadow and glitter and get creative to enhance their costumes. I remember the days when my dear old Mom did the same thing. She took out her makeup kit and fired away trying to create a costume out of almost nothing for us kids using only things we already had in the house. I’m sure some of you are thinking of doing that right now at this very minute. Well let me tell you that you are on the right track. With just a few tips – you can enhance any costume with simple face painting. I recommend taking some time to order professional face painting products from sillyfarm.com or ebay. That being said – yes you can use your eye shadow and eye liner on faces. This is very effective if your costume is a princess or a cat. Even a mermaid will look much better with purple and blue eye lids that travel up to the side of the head. Some craft stores this time of year carry suitable face painting products such a Snazaroo – perfect. Please do not use tempera, craft paints or craft glitter. These are not meant for skin and the glitter you use must be face painting glitter. Metal glitter can scratch the cornea of the eye and cause permanent damage. Suitable face painting glitter is made from polyester and will say it on the container. Gems are beautiful on the face and body and I use these regularly with eye lash adhesive which can be purchased in any makeup counter. Also feel free to glue feathers with this stuff. It holds almost anything. Good luck – I’ll be looking for you this season. Ask me any questions that you have while I’m painting. Upcoming open to the public festivals for me are October 2nd, Rachel Rae at Greensgrow Farms, October 9th Cheltenham Harvest Festival. Halloween and Harvest time is a great time to get creative. Don’t be afraid to paint on those fangs or flowers or both. – Jane

Balloon Twisting 101

A great activty for older kids ages 7 and up is learning some simple balloon designs. I hand out some balloons and give them a lesson in balloon twisting. We can make a fun hat, a dog on a leash a sword or a flower in their choice of colors. They will walk away knowing how to twist a simple design and taking it home. Then of course I will twist for them a design of their choise out of my repetoire. All the while their hands are busy twisting and creating their own balloons into whatever they come up with. This is an activity they don’t soon forget. We sometmes add stickers and draw onto the balloons with markers. It’s great for a rainy day activity. Those brightly colored balloons really brighten up the day.

When should I book your services?

A great way to start is when you have your date and time, location and the approximate number of guests attending the party who will need our services. This can include siblings of kids invited and adults that will want a design and balloon as well. (many do – you know who you are) I like to say that a month ahead is a good amount of time but if it’s a holiday weekend like Halloween or Xmas – probably it is better to book even earlier. We require a deposit for all bookings so we will give preference to those who have left their deposits. The way to book is to go to the Service Agreement page on the website – fill in all of your information, submit the info and then scroll down to the bottom of the page. Click on the Make a Deposit button and follow the prompts. Then stop worrying about your party entertainment. As our repeat customers already know you have booked the best and you can just relax. We will check in with you before the party and do our great usual job.
